Stamping & Spring Plates
Flat spring parts,
stamped to the drawing.
Spring plates, contact clips and formed brackets stamped from strip in Rayong, Thailand — heat-treated, finished and inspected alongside our spring production, so one drawing can cover the whole assembly.

Flat parts that still have to spring
Not every spring is round. A stamped spring plate, contact clip or retaining bracket does the same job from flat strip: it deflects, it holds a force, and it returns. The difference is that the form is cut and bent rather than coiled.
We stamp and form the part to your drawing, apply the heat treatment the material needs, and finish it with the same plating and coating options as our springs. Dimensions and critical features are checked before packing.
- Spring plates, contact clips, retaining clips and formed brackets
- Carbon spring steel and stainless steel strip
- Heat treatment and finish in-house
- Prototype, pre-production and volume orders
Where a flat part carries the load
Stamped spring parts are used where a coil would take too much space, where the spring has to be a contact as well as a force, or where the part also locates or retains something else in the assembly.
Stamping and spring plate specifications
Parts are quoted against the drawing. Where a dimension or feature falls outside our standard route, we say so at RFQ rather than assume it.
| Parameter | Capability |
|---|---|
| Materials | 65Mn, 72A, 82B and 60Si2Mn spring steel strip; stainless steel 301, 302, 304 and 316. Other grades reviewed on request. |
| Strip thickness | Reviewed against the drawing at RFQ; the forming route is confirmed before quoting. |
| Features | Blanked outlines, pierced holes, bends, formed contacts and locating tabs, as drawn. |
| Heat treatment | In-house stress relief and tempering where the material or duty cycle requires it. |
| Surface finish | Anti-rust oil, electrophoresis (E-coat), zinc plating, nickel plating, spray coating. |
| Dimensional inspection | 2.5D vision measurement and dimensional checks against the drawing. |
| Corrosion testing | Salt spray testing for plated and coated parts. |
| Fatigue testing | Available where the part works through a repeated deflection. |
| Quality system | ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015. |
| Samples | Prototype and pre-production samples against drawing. |
Please state the deflection direction and the force at the working position on the drawing. Those two pieces of information decide the strip thickness and temper.
Materials and finishes
For a flat spring part, the strip grade sets the force and the fatigue life; the finish sets the corrosion life.
65Mn · 60Si2Mn
Selected where the part needs a high force from a thin section and works through repeated deflection.
301 · 302 · 304 · 316
Used where the part sees moisture, cleaning or a corrosive environment, and where no additional coating is wanted.
Oil · E-coat · zinc · nickel · spray
Anti-rust oil, electrophoresis, zinc plating, nickel plating and spray coating are available. The finish is chosen for the environment the part sees.
Measured against the drawing, before packing
Formed features, material condition and finish are checked in-house. The inspection and test plan is agreed at RFQ.
- Raw material tensile strength and metallographic structure
- 2.5D vision measurement of formed features
- Load or deflection checks where specified
- Salt spray testing for plated and coated parts
- Fatigue testing for cycle-life validation
- Inspection records agreed at RFQ

What to send with your drawing
A stamped part is only right when the drawing shows how it works, not just what it looks like.
- Material grade and strip thickness
- Outline, holes and formed features
- Deflection direction and working position
- Force or travel required
- Surface finish and operating environment
- Annual quantity and delivery schedule

Stamping and spring plate questions
What is a spring plate?
A spring plate is a flat or formed part that deflects to hold a force — for example a contact plate in a battery compartment, a retaining clip or a bracket that has to stay tensioned. It does the job of a spring from strip rather than wire.
Which materials do you use?
65Mn, 72A, 82B and 60Si2Mn spring steel strip, plus stainless steel 301, 302, 304 and 316. Other grades are reviewed against the drawing at RFQ.
Can the parts be plated or coated?
Yes. Anti-rust oil, electrophoresis, zinc plating, nickel plating and spray coating are available, and plated or coated parts can be salt spray tested.
What do you need to quote a stamped part?
The drawing, the material and strip thickness, the deflection direction and working position, the force required, the finish and the annual quantity. With those we can confirm the forming route and the test plan.
Send a drawing, get a quote
Tell us the strip, the deflection and the environment. We will confirm the forming route, finish and test plan before quoting.
